Invented in New Orleans in 1888 by Henry C. Ramos, whose original instructions dictated that the drink be shaken for 12 minutes. We don't shake it for quite that long, but it's just as good.
Straight Gin, Cane Sugar, Fresh Lemon & Lime, Orange Blossom Water, Madagascar Vanilla Extract, Cream, Egg White. Served Up.
In shaker:
1.5 oz New Amsterdam
.75 oz Simple
.5 oz Lemon
.5 oz Lime
8-10 drops Orange Flower Water (depending on the brand)
4 drops vanilla extract
1 oz heavy cream
1 egg white
>Dry shake, add ice, shake vigorously, strain into a collins glass (no ice), top w. 1 oz soda, stir a few times to incorporate, no garnish.
